As the second-largest city on Vancouver Island, Nanaimo’s Public Works yard, built in the 1960s, was not designed to support a community of this size. The proposed Nanaimo Operations Centre project will upgrade aging facilities to match our city’s growth.

To do this project, we are seeking approval from resident electors to borrow $48.5 million through an Alternative Approval Process (AAP), which runs from January 18 - February 20, 2024.
