A man was hit with a baseball bat and his vehicle's windshield smashed during an altercation outside a Harewood convenience store this spring.

In a press release, Nanaimo RCMP say the alleged assault-with-a-weapon incident occurred May 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at Fifth Street and Bruce Avenue in Nanaimo. The driver of a Honda sedan trailed the driver of a Hyundai to the store. Both drivers got out of their vehicles and the Honda driver allegedly hit the Hyundai driver in the back with the bat before turning attention to the car's windshield.

Minor injuries were sustained by the driver of the Hyundai.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any related information, call Nanaimo RCMP's non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, citing file No. 2024-16613.
