The Nanaimo NightOwls will be putting on a fireworks show after their game Monday, July 1, against the Victoria HarbourCats.

Baseball fans can watch two Canadian college teams play ball, and stick around afterward for entertainment of a different sort.

The Nanaimo NightOwls are planning a fireworks show after their doubleheader against the rival Victoria HarbourCats on Monday, July 1, at Serauxmen Stadium.

The two seven-inning matchups are the final West Coast League regular-season game between Nanaimo and Victoria, concluding a nine-game Island Cup series.

"If you want to see some hard-fought baseball, with no love lost, it will be the game when both teams have one last chance for bragging rights this year," noted a club press release.

The fireworks presentation is being done in partnership with the Kw'umut Lelum Foundation and the Maxxam Group.

The NightOwls say they're expecting their first sell-out crowd of the season for the games, starting at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.. For tickets and more schedule information, visit http://nanaimonightowls.com.
