In Loving Memory ~
In loving memory of Christine Metz, known as "Chrissy" by friends and family.
Born in Nanaimo 1954, Chrissy passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023, surrounded by family and love. A longtime Nanaimo girl, Chrissy was filled with history and information about Nanaimo and had a sharp memory for dates and places.
Chrissy had an adventurous heart and lived throughout BC and Alberta, then settled back in her home town of Nanaimo. Known for being endlessly funny, caring, and for her loving nature.
Always a kind person, Chrissy loved feeding the birds, and her yard was always full of lively, happy little birds who would fly right up to her.
Born with a unique heart structure, Chrissy wasn't expected to live a long life, but she did. Her unique health was studied for decades, and our family can proudly say she contributed greatly to medical science.
She will be so very missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly. She passed peacefully in comfort and in good hands and care at the Nanaimo hospital, with family by her bedside.
Chrissy is survived by her daughters, Sherry, Teresa, and Savannah, as well as all of her beloved grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for the fiercely independent, resilient, funny, strong, and loving person, mother, and grandmother she was.
So loving..so loved..
and so very missed..
A private celebration of life for Chrissy was held by friends and family.
